I figure I should say something just to remind myself of why I wanted to start a blog to begin with, (thinking maybe it'll inspire me to stick with it) but then I really don't know (or can't remember). Still, seeing the circles template that I randomly chose as a background reminded me of this awesome awesome algorithm I found on notcot.org.
Firstly, its cool because now you can actually see your whole (photographic) life before your eyes, without having to play real life frogger. This leads me to wonder just how much information can be conveyed with the simplest of geometric shapes. How have shapes taken on meanings over time? Why is a circle seem calming, whereas adding more angles creates ideas of sharpness and agitation?
The next thing is how the seasons move in and out of one another. It's not that people don't already associate winter with a lack of color, but to realize that this is reflected in what we choose to snap is pretty telling. Maybe if people took more colorful pictures in the cold season, they wouldn't complain of seasonal depression.
Finally I had to write about this because I'm super annoyed that I couldn't find the actual code or program or whatever used to create this image. Any thoughts?
